Update
Andrew's life: This past week Andrew began a new term of TAing. He is in charge of two sections of a tutorial for a first year chemistry course at U of T. Although he always get nervous standing up in front of large groups of people, his classes went well this week. It is not a new situation since he did this already last year. Andrew hopes this year he will become even more comfortable teaching, since this seems to be where he is wanting to head career wise.
Melissa's life: Melissa has been working at a fair trade store called Ten Thousand Villages for many years and is fantastic with customers, very well organized, and intimately familiar with the Mennonite tradition that the store and it's mission comes out of. Who could possibly be more qualified take on the assistant managers position at a new store opening in Toronto? To our amazement then, she was interviewed and passed up for the job this week. There are some indications that it is due to internal politics. She has an interview for another management position at an existing store coming up this week. Does she have a chance, or are they just going through the motions of due process for a decision that's already been made? Not that we'll ever know, but stay tuned...
